Program for the promotion of vocational education and training (KfW)
GOPA is currently seeking a Team Leader (Construction Engineer, Architect) for the construction, upgrading and refurbishment of vocational schools in Mozambique for an up-coming KfW funded project. The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project implementation and the supervision and guidance of the Consultant’s team.
Background:
Within the German Financial Cooperation the federal government is currently supporting a vocational training project in Mozambique. The overall goal is to expand the training capacity of selected private and public vocational schools and to improve the quality of education offered there. The project includes i.a. the following measures: need-based construction, rehabilitation and expansion of building infrastructure, such as workrooms, workshops and supplementary facilities (boarding schools, sanitary facilities, canteens etc.) as well as the procurement of equipment for the introduction and implementation of competency-based curricula
Qualifications:
- At least a master degree in a relevant discipline (Civil Engineering, Architecture);
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of school construction (preferred vocational schools)
- At least 3 years working experience in Sub-Sahara Africa. Working experience in Mozambique would be an asset.
- Previous experience as Team Leader of similar projects.
- Fluent in English. Portuguese would be an asset.
- Past experience working with international donors (preferred KfW) is required
